During a long weekend in high school, my dad took me to see Wisconsin (I grew up in Minneapolis). After an incredibly underwhelming tour of Madison that ended with super average ice cream from the campus creamery, he practically dragged me to Iowa City, me saying I wouldn't be caught dead in Iowa the whole ride there.

I don't want to sound cliché, but really, after about five minutes on campus I knew I was going to enroll there. I didn't even have to take the tour, it truly was love at first sight. Throwing my previous allegiances to Minnesota athletics was easy seeing as how Minnesota is and always has been bad at everything (besides hockey, but Iowa doesn’t have a hockey team) for the entirety of my life.
