The original version of this post said that Iowa would be playing Nebraska on Thursday night. That has since been fixed as new information has been released.
Iowa’s going to have to wait to play their first game in the Big Ten Tournament until Thursday afternoon, as rain has pushed back the schedule of Wednesday’s games and made it difficult to fit in their regularly scheduled game. The game is now scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CT.
The Hawkeyes were supposed to play at 7:30 p.m., but their game had to be pushed back due to weather that caused earlier games to be delayed. Nebraska and Purdue were set to face off at 4 p.m., but their start was pushed back an hour to avoid the rain that was supposed to fall in Bloomington at that time. The Cornhuskers went on to win that game 15-9, but rainy weather and a long game made it inevitable that Iowa would be postponed.
The loser of Iowa’s game tomorrow afternoon will play a doubleheader that will culminate with a game against the Boilermakers, while the winner is scheduled to play Nebraska sometime on Friday. The games are still scheduled to be on BTN.
The forecast tomorrow? Not much better. There’s a 60% chance of rain in Bloomington, so hopefully they’re able to get those games in and get back on schedule because it would be a shame if bad weather marred the tournament.
