Iowa Football Recruiting: 4-star OT Tristan Wirfs Signs With Hawkeyes

Wirfs is Iowa’s top rated recruit from Iowa.

Tristan Wirfs is now a Hawkeye after choosing the University of Iowa over in-state rival Iowa State. Wirfs committed way back in December of 2015 and has officially signed his National Letter of Intent today.

There’s a lot to like in Tristan Wirfs, who along with A.J. Epenesa was an Army All-American after his senior season in high school. Wirfs is considered by 247 Sports to be the second best senior football player in the state of Iowa, behind only Oliver Martin. Iowa has a knack for developing even the least acclaimed linemen, so it’s exciting to think of what can come of such a highly touted athlete.

The quick bio on Tristan Wirfs:

High School/Hometown: Mount Vernon High School // Mount Vernon, IA
Measurables: 6’5”, 290 lb.
247 Composite Ranking: 4-stars
Other Offers: Iowa State.
