Iowa will be without No. 3 receiver and big deep threat Ihmir Smith-Marsette for the Pinstripe Bowl.
WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette will not play in today's bowl game due to a soft tissue injury suffered in bowl preparation // #Hawkeyes

On the surface this a huge loss for Iowa, as ISM is a much speedier option compared to starters Nick Easley and Matt VandeBerg, but in reality it doesn’t change much for Iowa. ISM has just 7 catches for under 60 yards and no scores (he hasn’t found the end zone since Iowa State) over the last 4 games, and when he’s able to get separation, he often suffers a case of the drops.
He is a bit more dynamic in the kick return game, but even then his play hasn’t been game-changing.
So Iowa will be without starting safety Miles Taylor left tackle Alaric Jackson and ISM for this game. It’s not ideal for Iowa, but Boston College is without its best defensive player, too.
