Welcome back to another edition of Iowa Hawkeyes in the NFL. It was definitely not the most productive week of Sunday football for your favorite former Hawks, but the usual cast of characters did show up and contribute. Here are the numbers the Iowa alums posted in Week 15 of the 2017 NFL season.
Desmond Kings, Defensive Back, Los Angeles Chargers
King logged five total tackles and returned one kickoff for 21 yards in Los Angeles’ 30-13 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Earlier in the week, ESPN’s Eric Williams wrote a nice story comparing King to former NFL great Ronde Barber. You can read that HERE.
Micah Hyde, Defensive Back, Buffalo Bills
Hyde had four tackles and defended one pass in Buffalo’s 24-16 win over their divisional rival Miami Dolphins. Hyde has played an instrumental role for a Bills defense that has essentially kept Buffalo right in the thick of the NFL Playoff discussion all season.
Hyde was also voted as a Pro Bowl starter by the fans.

Christian Kirksey, Linebacker, Cleveland Browns
Kirksey got in on 13 tackles and defended a pass in Cleveland’s 27-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He is currently 4th in the NFL in combined tackles. Off the field, he is hosting a screening of the new Alexander Payne film “Downsizing” starring Matt Damon. All proceeds from the event will go toward The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland.
Join me tomorrow night for an advance screening of DOWNSIZING! We ask that you bring a canned/boxed food item to donate to the @HungerNetworkGC as we #DownsizeForGood. To download a complimentary admit-two pass, visit: https://t.co/wJ4qTp2rbP *While Supplies Last pic.twitter.com/VEuO1C0Wsf

Leshun Daniels, Running Back, Washington Redskins
Forget the stats themselves, it’s just good to see Daniels getting some NFL action. He had a carry for the second consecutive week for Washington, carry the ball two yards on his only touch. The Redskins defeated the Arizona Cardinals 20-15.
Mike Daniels, Defensive Lineman, Green Bay Packers
Mike Daniels was fairly active in Green Bay’s 31-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers, getting good penetration all day and logging four total tackles.
George Kittle, Tight End, San Francisco 49ers
Kittle had a decent afternoon, hauling in four catches for 52 yards in San Francisco’s 25-23 win over the Tennessee Titans. The 49ers have now won three in a row, going 3-0 with Jimmy Garappolo as a starter. Kittle has been targeted ten times during that stretch.
Anthony Hitchens, Linebacker, Dallas Cowboys
Hitchens logged six total tackles in Dallas’ 20-17 win over the Oakland Raiders. The win helped keep playoff hopes alive for the Cowboys.
Adrian Clayborn, Defensive Tackle, Atlanta Falcons
Clayborn helped Atlanta take down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, recording a tackle and a half a sack.
