For the fourth consecutive year, Iowa football has a player earn AP all-American honors. This time, however, we have two players awarded such a designation.
First-Team Honors for Josey Jewell and Josh Jackson from the AP | #Hawkeyes https://t.co/3tJdyLbT1k

Jewell and Jackson are both first-teamers; while just Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas and Ohio State are the only other schools to have multiple first-team all-Americans. The Big Ten led all conferences with seven first-team all-Americans.
This is the fourth consecutive year where Iowa has a player who’s earned all-American recognition. Desmond King was a first and second-teamer in 2015 & ‘16, respectively, while Austin Blythe was a third-teamer in 2015 and Brandon Scherff was a first-teamer in 2014.
They also join some pretty elite company as dual consensus all-Americans.
With Josey Jewell and Josh Jackson virtual locks as consensus All-Americans, here are Iowa's previous consensus All-American combos:

2002--Eric Steinbach & Dallas Clark
1985-- @ChuckLongIowa & Larry Station
1981-- @AndreTippett & Reggie Roby https://t.co/5yZM8DbpVH
Which of these seasons is not like the others...
This is just the latest trophy for Jewell’s case, as he was named the Lott IMPACT Trophy winner last night.
Jewell is a senior, so we have just one last chance to watch him in the Black and Gold when we play Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27. Jackson is just a junior; however he’s projected as a late first-round NFL draft pick by some outlets. He’d probably be wise to take the money, but we saw Desmond King stick around for his senior season not long ago. Only time will tell.
I think consensus all-America is impressive. Undeniably great year. Plus for Hawkeyes, portrait goes up where everyone can see it. It’s also a more realistic “make” than wall of honor, which, if it ever happens again, won’t happen again until someone goes into the CFB HOF

Big congratulations to Josh Jackson and Josey Jewell from The Pants community. It was a roller coaster of a season, and I think we all wish we had performed a little better for the sake of these Hawkeye greats. Go get that bowl win, fellas.
