Well. If you called Iowa football a mess, I’m not sure how you’d categorize Iowa basketball after Fran McCaffery’s squad dropped its first two games against what were supposed to be inferior opponents in Louisiana-Lafayette and South Dakota State in the first two rounds of the Cayman Islands Classic.
But, we are troubled Iowa fans, and we will continue to cheer on our team. The path to healing starts shortly when Iowa takes on University of Alabama-Birmingham today at 11am CT.
Here’s how to watch:
Opponent: University of Alabama-Birmingham
Game time: 11:00 AM CST // Wednesday, November 22, 2017
Location: John Gray Gymnasium // George Town, Cayman Islands
Live Stats: Right Here.
Radio: Hawkeye Radio Network
We don’t have much of a preview for you since we’re all home for the holidays and we’re feeling pretty lethargic about Iowa sports around The Pants lately. We do have more bad news for you, though!
Forward Ahmad Wagner inactive for today's game versus UAB (shoulder) // #Hawkeyes— Iowa Basketball (@IowaHoops) November 22, 2017
THIS IS FINE INJURIES HAVEN’T AFFECTED THIS TEAM AT ALL THE LAST TWO GAMES.
Wagner had 11 points and 3 boards against SDSU, but was largely ineffective against ULL. We surmise true freshman Jack Nunge will make his first career start and take Wagner’s place in the rotation there.
Anyway, play nice in the comments, and let’s send our boys home for the holidays with a win.
