Iowa basketball is back in a big way after the Hawkeyes took down Josey William Jewell college 105-81 in its first exhibition of the year.
Things started slow for Iowa. The Hawkeyes actually trailed 46-45 at half. It was looking like 2015, where Iowa lost to Augustana College in its exhibition game. Iowa, however, didn’t let that last in the second frame, and posted a 31-8 run at one point.
Jordan Bohannon led all scorers with 19 points. He went 4-7 from 3-point range and 7-12 from the field. Jack Nunge and Tyler Cook had 16 apiece and Nunge went a perfect 6-6 from the field and 3-3 from range. Luka Garza was another impressive-looking freshman with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Garza and Nunge led the Hawks in boards, each with 9.
Connor McCaffery played 18 minutes but had just 5 points. He had a tough night, going 0-5 from the field, but he showed an ability to get to the line—that’s where all his points came from.

And that’s sort of where our #analysis ends. We’re too cheap for a BTN2Go account and Stranger Things just came out soooooo. We’ll have a full analysis of this game later this weekend.
Tweets from people that were there:
