Iowa Football Recruiting: #Swarm18 Performance Recap for Week 10

The members of Iowa’s 2018 recruiting class wrapped up their regular seasons and made advances in state playoff races last week. We dive into how they performed.

Henry Geil

Pos: RB

Hometown: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Ht: 6’

Wt: 211 lbs

Running back commit Henry Geil finished out his high school career strong. He tallied 68 yards on 20 carries (3.4 YPC) on Friday, but is wasn’t enough as his Green Bay Preble Hornets fell 42-7 to Appleton North in the first round of the playoffs. The loss brings Geil’s high school career to a close. Preble finishes the year 6-4. Geils finishes with 1,479 rushing yards and 16 TDs on 224 carries for an average of 6.6 yards per carry.

Jack Plumb

Pos: TE/OT

Hometown: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Ht: 6’8”

Wt: 245 lbs

Offensive tackle commit Jack Plumb, who plays tight end for his Bay Port high school team, hauled in 2 catches for 43 yards as Bay Port took down Eau Claire Memorial 42-21 on Friday. The win came in the first round of the Wisconsin playoffs. Bay Port moves to 10-0 on the year with the win and will advance to face off with Stevens Point this week. Tyrone Tracy

Pos: ATH

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Ht: 6’

Wt: 185 lbs

Wide receiver commit Tyrone Tracy had one of the most ridiculous performances of his amazing senior season on Friday. He finished with 315 rushing yards and 3 TDs on 13 carries for an absurd 24.2 yards per carry average. He also added 5 catches for 75 receiving yards and another TD through the air. The performance helped boost Decatur Central past Plainfield 41-20 in the first round of the 5A sectionals.

Here’s a look at Tracy’s highlights from the matchup.

Through 10 games, including this week’s playoff victory, Tracy now has 1,267 rushing yards and 10 TDs on 110 carries (an average of 11.5 YPC) as well as 954 receiving yards and 13 TDs on 47 catches (20.3 YPC).

The win moves Decatur Central to 9-1 on the year. They’ll face off with Indianapolis Arsenal Technical in the second round of the sectionals. You can see the full bracket here.

DJ Johnson

Pos: DB

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

Ht: 6’

Wt: 170 lbs

DJ Johnson and North Central had the week off last week. They will take on the same Pike team they previously lost to 45-28 this Friday. Here’s a look at the 6A playoff bracket.

Julius Brents

Pos: DB

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

Ht: 6’2

Wt: 180 lbs

Like Johnson and North Central, Julius Brents and Warren Central were on a bye this week. Their sectional journey officially kicks off this Friday as they will get a rematch with Lawrence North in the playoffs this Friday. Warren Central won the previous meeting 53-3. Anthony Torres

Pos: TE

Hometown: Mishawaka, Indiana

Ht: 6’6”

Wt: 235 lbs

Anthony Torres, who remains out due to an undisclosed injury, and Mishawaka Penn were also off last week. Penn will have a rematch against Valpraiso, the only team to beat them on the season with a 12-7 win back in week one, this Friday in the playoffs. Once again, here’s a look at the full 6A bracket.

Terry Roberts

Pos: DB

Hometown: Erie, PA

Ht: 5’10”

Wt: 169 lbs

Defensive back commit Terry Roberts, who is utilzed primarily on offense at Cathedral Prep, had 131 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 4 catches (32.75 yards per catch) as Cathedral took down Fort LeBoeuf 49-14 lastFriday. Here’s a look at Roberts’ highlights.

On the year, Roberts now has 770 yards and 10 touchdowns on 24 catches for an average of 32.1 yards per reception. On the defensive side of the ball, he has 6 tackles and 2 interceptions. With the win Cathedral Prep moved to 9-0. They will take on Canisius of Buffalo, NY this Friday.

Samson Evans

Pos: ATH

Hometown: Crystal Lake, IL

Ht: 6’1”

Wt: 190 lbs

WR commit Samson Evans, who plays QB for his Prairie Ridge team, ran for 184 yards and 4 TDs Friday. He also threw a 27 yard TD to his brother in the contest. Prairie Ridge moved to 9-0 with a 55-14 win over Dundee-Crown. Here’s a look at the game highlights.

On the year, Evans has 1,161 yards and 22 TDs. Prairie Ridge will take on Chrystal Lake Central this Saturday. You can see the full playoff bracket here.

Dillon Doyle

Pos: LB

Hometown: Iowa City, IA

Ht: 6’3”

Wt: 215 lbs

Linebacker commit Dillon Doyle finished out his regular season strong, recording 3 tackles and a fumble recovery on the defensive side of the ball. He added a 25 yard touchdown catch on offense. Iowa City West took down Ottumwa 55-7 on Friday to finish the season undefeated at 9-0. Here are Doyle’s highlights.

On the season, Doyle now has 48 tackles and 5.5 TFL on defense and 198 yards and 3 touchdowns on 13 catches (15.2 YPC) on offense. West High will take on Cedar Rapids Washington in the first round of the playoffs this Friday. The full playoff bracket can be found here.
