IOWA-MINNESOTA SET FOR NIGHT GAME ON OCT. 28

BACON IS A DISH BEST SERVED AT NIGHT

NCAA Football: Minnesota at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa’s annual Floyd of Rosedale trophy game against Minnesota is slated to kickoff at 5:30 pm CT on FS1 on Oct. 28.

This is already going to be Iowa’s second night game of the year, leaving little room for any of its remaining home games — Ohio State and Purdue — to be played in the evening. Its game against Nebraska is already scheduled for 3pm, and I suppose the bout against Wisconsin at Camp Randall could be played at night, but that’s doubtful.

There’s still room for the tOSU game to be played in the afternoon, which would be nice, selfishly because I’m going to that game and would like to sleep an extra hour before heading to Kinnick.

ANYWAY, Iowa and Minnesota have a bit of a history in regards to night games at Kinnick. Allow me to help your memory go for a jog:

Oh naked bootleg, how I miss thee.

And those jerseys! I know Iowa has some alternates that are waiting to be broken out this year. Seems to me this game has all the makings for that to happen.

So mark your calendars, get to the butcher shop early, call the babysitter and get ready to give PJ Fleck a warm welcome to Kinnick Stadium.
