It’s game day again! And not just any game day. It’s Iowa State’s Super Bowl!!! The Hawkeyes come into the weekend looking to improve on last week’s effort, where the offense was dynamic but the defense left a bit to be desired. This week, they’ll have captain and play-caller Josey Jewell back in the middle of the defense and that should greatly benefit a team whose defense was considered a strength before the season started.

Iowa State, on the other hand, comes into this game on the tails of their third loss to FCS Northern Iowa in the past ten years. They generally find a way to bring their ‘A’ game to play against the Hawkeyes (or somehow coax the Hawks to play down their level), and they have a chance if they can keep it close, especially with their phenomenal wide receiver Allen Lazard, who corralled six balls for 129 yards and a touchdown last week.
