How many games will Iowa win in 2016?

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Remember when Iowa football won all 12 regular season games in 2015?  Man, that was fun.  Super duper fun.

Expectations are high for 2016 since Iowa is returning multiple starters on offense and defense, including star performers like C.J. Beathard, George Kittle, LeShun Daniels, Jaleel Johnson, Josey Jewell, and Desmond King.  There are still holes to fill -- Jordan Canzeri, Tevaun Smith, Austin Blythe, Jordan Walsh, and Macon Plewa and Adam Cox on offense and Jordan Lomax, Nate Meier, and Drew Ott on defense -- but there's plenty of be excited about when it comes to Iowa football in 2016.  So what are the oddsmakers in Las Vegas thinking in terms of regular season Iowa's win total for 2016?

How about... 8.5 wins?  That's what VegasInsider and South Point Race and Sports Book have the over/under set at for Iowa.  Iowa can lose three games more than they did last year and still hit the over, so if you're bullish on the Hawkeyes' chances in 2016, maybe that over looks pretty enticing.  On the other hand, if you think they rode a lot of good fortune in 2015 and expect that to flip in 2016 or think that they'll struggle to replace some key losses from a year ago, maybe you want to bang the under.  What do you think?

In the meantime, here are the win totals for all of the Big Ten teams.

Michigan 10 -110 -110
Ohio State 9.5 +105 -125
Iowa 8.5 -110 -110
Nebraska 8.5 -110 -110
Michigan State 7.5 -130 +110
Wisconsin 7 -110 -110
Northwestern 6.5 -120 +100
Penn State 6.5 -110 -110
Minnesota 6 -110 -110
Illinois 4.5 -110 -110
Indiana 4.5 -110 -110
Maryland 4.5 +110 -130
Purdue 4.5 -110 -110
Rutgers 4.5 -125 +105

NOTE: Minus-odds of -125 mean that you would need to wager $125 to win $100, while plus-odds of +110 mean that if you wager $100 and win, then you would win $110.
