Iowa prepares for a border battle against a border rival in the midst of a terrible year.

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Remember three days ago when Iowa dropped a difficult road game at Indiana and Iowa fell into a three-way tie for first and the #3 seed in the Big Ten Tournament? Well, about that...

Big Ten standings 2.14.16

Iowa got an expected assist from Michigan State today (they demolished Indiana in the second half to cruise to an easy victory) and an unexpected assist from Wisconsin yesterday (they picked up a very impressive road win over Maryland) and just like that they're back in the exact same spot they were before the IU game: alone atop the Big Ten standings and firmly in control of their own destiny. Just keep winning and Iowa will be Big Ten champions (and the top seed in the Big Ten Tournament). We should take a note of caution from Maryland's loss, though -- wins aren't guaranteed, they're earned and while the path is clear for Iowa now, they're still going to need to go out and get those wins. First up? A really bad Minnesota team. Let's add to their pain -- and our pleasure.

The game tips off at 6:30 PM CT, with TV coverage from BTN and online coverage from BTN2Go.
