Iowa continues to stock receivers in its most recent recruiting class, after securing commitment last night from Nick Easley, a JUCO receiver from Iowa Western who was previously planning to walk-on to Iowa State.

Easley is listed at 6-0, 200 lbs and can apparently run a 4.46 40. That’s really fast. He was a first team NJCAA all-American this year after hauling in 72 catches for 954 yards and 7 scores.
The offer to play for Iowa was the only Div-I opportunity Easley was given. He had offers from FCS schools such as Western Illinois and Southern Illinois, but decided to walk-on to Iowa State two weeks ago.
Easley is the second receiver Iowa has signed this month, with the Hawkeyes getting a commitment from Wisconsinite Max Cooper, who was previously committed to Western Michigan.
Easley played his high school ball in Council Bluffs, and admittedly has some pretty impressive highlights. I don’t know anything about Iowa Western’s quarterback situation, but whoever was throwing to Easley can sling it.
Easley now joins Cooper and Brandon Smith as the only other receiver commits in the class of 2017. The Oliver Martin Sweepstakes lives on.
Best of luck, Mr. Easley. We look forward to watching you in an Iowa uniform.
