Whatcha Drinkin, Who Ya Watchin Week 9?

Fret not during the bye week, no Iowa game means no Iowa loss!

Well, the Hawkeyes are on a bye this week. While that may leave a void in your football viewing life, it also means you don’t have to endure the confusion of strange play calls, the frustration of missed tackles and the despair of another Hawkeye loss. At least for another week. In the meantime, enjoy a stress-free weekend of college football.

This week gets kicked off tonight with a handful of games, a couple of which are interesting. At 6pm CT we have #25 Virginia Tech at Pitt on ESPN. That’s followed up with Cal at USC at 9:30, also on ESPN.

There are three Friday night games. The most notable one is #22 Navy at USF, which kicks off at 6pm CT on ESPN2.

The Saturday morning games get started with #6 Louisville and Lamar Jackson at Virginia at 11am CT mirrored on ABC/ESPN2. The other 11am games include #2 Michigan at MSU on ESPN, #24 Penn State, fresh off their defeat of OSU, at Purdue mirrored on ABC/ESPN2 and Minnesota is at Illinois on BTN.

At 2:30pm CT we get #8 Baylor at Texas on ABC, #14 Florida at Georgia on CBS and Miami at Notre Dame on NBC. Over on ESPN we have Northwestern at #6 OSU. On ESPN2 you have Texas Tech at TCU. And perhaps the most intriguing matchup in this timeslot is #4 Washington at #17 Utah on FS1.

There’s a bit of a void in the late afternoon games, but the evening games get started at 6pm CT. On FS1 there’s Kansas at #16 Oklahoma. ESPN has #7 Nebraska at #11 Wisconsin in what may be the best game of the weekend, especially from a Big Ten fan’s perspective. At 6:15pm CT, you get #15 Auburn at Ole Miss on the SEC Network and #18 Tennessee at South Carolina on ESPN2.

North Carolina State v Clemson

The primetime game on ABC features #3 Clemson at #12 FSU (7pm CT). There’s not much else kicking off at that time given the early evening slate.

The late games include Washington State at Oregon State at 9:45 CT on ESPN2 and Stanford at Arizona on FS1 at 10pm CT.

With Iowa on a bye, I’m hoping to take a bye from drinking this weekend (we all know how that will end) and spend some extra time with the fam. But please, by all means, don’t let that stop you. Let us know in the comments what you’ll be drinking this weekend.

As always, you can find a listing of EVERY game on the docket for the weekend below. The usual disclaimer, this table is created by the SB Nation crew, not us, so the times listed below are EASTERN.
