Iowa ended one long losing streak against Michigan State earlier this season -- 9 straight losses overall in the series. Now they have a chance to end an even longer losing streak against Michigan State -- 18 straight losses in East Lansing. Iowa hasn't won there since 1993 -- their losing streak in East Lansing is old enough to drink now!
It would be really nice to end that streak -- which would also cement Iowa's place atop the Big Ten and put the Spartans two games back of Iowa in the league standings -- but it's going to be an immense challenge for Iowa to do so. This is a very, very good Michigan State team and it's even better now that its best player, Denzel Valentine, has returned from a brief injury absence. But hey -- Iowa did beat MSU once already this year and they've been playing very, very good basketball of late. Why not end the streak now?
The game tips off at 6 PM CT, with TV coverage from ESPN.
