Roy Devyn Marble's selection by the Orlando Magic last year ended a long drought since the last Iowa player heard his name called at the NBA Draft (Adam Haluska in 2007, in case you were wondering). Could Aaron White make it two years in a row that a Hawkeye hears his name called? Definitely... maybe. White had a strong senior season -- and ended his year on one hell of a hot streak, particularly when it comes to three-point shooting -- that went a long way to improve his candidacy.
If White does get drafted, it likely won't be for a while -- the mock drafts have White getting selected don't have him coming off the board until the end of the second round. So we're probably in for quite a wait to see if Aaron White will hear his name called.
In the meantime, though, this promises to be one of the most intriguing drafts in a while, with the potential for plenty of trades and shake-ups in the draft order. The Big Ten will have a big presence in this draft, too -- Ohio State star D'Angelo Russell is expected to go in the first three picks and two Wisconsin Badgers (Sam Dekker and Frank Kaminsky) could get taken in the first 15 picks or so.
The draft gets underway at 6 PM CT on ESPN.
