FIRST. A round of applause to Rick Heller and his Hawkeye baseball team. Second, a round of applause for Hayden's_Aviators and Ross for the baseball coverage this entire season. Usually, baseball stuff ended up in the "Other Links." Great job all around.

IT'S JUNE. And that means we'll soon get Phil Steele's 2015 College Football preview magazine where ever you buy magazines these days. Steele released his early all-America and all-Conference teams. Iowa doesn't have one first team all-Big Ten mention this preseason but a few second team mentions. Drew Ott and Austin Blythe are those 2nd team mentions. Tevaun Smith and Desmond King get 3rd team nods while JakeDuzey and Jordan Lomax were named to the 4th team.

IOWA-IOWA STATE FOOTBALL KICKOFF TIME IS SET. It's another afternoon kickoff for the CyHawk rivalry game this Fall. Fox will carry the September 12th match-up starting at 2:30 pm CST.

SPEAKING OF FOX. In a hard hitting, in-depth piece on FoxSports dot com, C.J. Beathard is named Iowa's most important player for the 2015 season. Elsewhere, www dot Cleveland dot com names Beathard the Big Ten's #45 best player.

Final Beathard thing, Iowa players are back for Summer now but before they returned they got to spend some time with family. Beathard's reunion has a different twist this Spring. His uncle Kurt is the offensive coordinator for Iowa's first opponent, Illinois State.

JUNE ALSO MEANS THE NBA DRAFT. While it's still over three weeks away, there's still plenty to read about Iowa's next potential NBA Draft pick. Aaron White is predicted a second round pick and one blog likes his versatility.
