It had to be this way, didn't it? Iowa and Nebraska have met in the last three Big Ten Tournaments -- they've met in the conference tournament every year since Nebraska joined the Big Ten, actually -- so of course they had to meet again this year. Sure enough, Nebraska easily dispatched Illinois in their BTT opener yesterday, throttling the Illini 86-71.
Nebraska got the better of Iowa in each of those three previous BTT showdowns (the cruelest loss coming last year in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game); those losses were a big part of Iowa's 8-game losing streak against the Cornhuskers entering this season. But Iowa has completely reversed their fortune versus Nebraska this year -- they toppled Nebraska, 78-72 in OT in Iowa City in late January, then beat them again, 69-61, in Lincoln a few weeks ago. Can they beat Nebraska a third time? Let's hope so.
The game tips off at 6 PM CT, with TV coverage from BTN (online coverage from BTN2Go).
