WELCOME TO KIRK FERENTZ PARODY MUSIC WEEK

I mean, c'mon. Did you really think we weren't going to get in on this?

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

For those who don't often leave our little corner of Blogfrica, it's Musical Week over at Every Day Should Be Saturday.  Action Cookbook, an EDSBS contributor, Cincinnati football fan and overall excellent Twitter follow, took the opportunity to adapt Rent's "Seasons of Love" as a clever joke about our own Kirk Ferentz.  "Seasons of Punt" was born.

It didn't take long for Iowa internet to take notice.  By the afternoon, Iowa fan and talented musician (and friend of our very own sailorjerry) Tim Stop had recorded EDSBS's parody song.  It's really excellent.

We don't know much about musicals, what with that whole "living in Iowa" thing, but there was no way that we were going to let a Kirk Ferentz parody song go by without a contribution of our own.  And so last night, we retired to the BHGP recording studio to finish a long-dormant side project: Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothing" adapted for history's greatest Kanye fan, Kirk Ferentz.

If you woke up to find this in your iTunes under the podcast, it's not technically a podcast.  It's just the easiest way for us to upload any audio, so you're getting it as a bonus.

So, um, yeah.  Have fun with this one.
