FRAN'S PROGRAM CONTINUES TO RISE. From NIT to NIT Championship game to NCAA play-in game to firmly in as a seven seed, Fran has had the Hawks improving each year. The next step is an NCAA tournament win. Iowa is the higher seed in this first second round game in Seattle. Iowa is the Vegas favorite by just two points. One media outlet likes Iowa to move past Davidson and then the Zags to the Sweet 16.

JUST FOR FUN, LET'S IMAGINE AN IOWA-IOWA STATE SWEET 16. I mean, it is possible and Iowa media types will dare to dream.
OTHER TIDBITS. Davidson will have one player scouted.
Aaron White played for Davidson coach Bob McKillop on USA Basketball team.

This marks the fourth time Iowa will be a seven seed (1983, 1991, 2001, 2015). #Hawkeyes

TONIGHT IS SELECTION MONDAY FOR THE LADIES. The Iowa ladies will find their fate this evening. ESPN's Women's bracketology has the Hawks as a three seed and in Iowa City for the first two games. A projected second round match-up with either Washington or Arkansas bodes well for Iowa. We'll find out for real a little later.
SAM WAS FANTASTIC. Sam Logic was named 2nd team all-American by ESPN. She joined just 10 players named first and second team.
