Iowa has received a 7 seed in the 2015 tournament, and the Hawkeyes will face Davidson in Seattle on Friday. The Hawkeyes share a pod with 2-seed Gonzaga, so expect a Bulldog-heavy fan presence there in Washington. Also, UNI's there as part of a different bracket. IOWANS EVERYWHERE!
EDIT: Iowa's game against Davidson will tip off at approximately 6:20 PM CT, with TV coverage from TNT.
This is Iowa's second NCAA tournament appearance in as many years, though last one's was a play-in game loss in overtime against fellow 11-seed Tennessee. Iowa has not been invited to the big boys' table of the tournament since [COACH REDACTED] and the ill-fated 3-seed of 2006, and this represents a solid opportunity for Iowa to get its first NCAA tournament victory since a 69-56 victory over Creighton as a 7-seed in 2001.
So let's step back and look at this: if, at the beginning of the year, someone had told you Iowa would A) have its third straight 20-win season; B) make the NCAA tournament again with a substantially better seed than last year; C) pick up wins in Chapel Hill, Columbus and Bloomington; and D) celebrate a first-team All-Big Ten performance from Aaron White, you're taking that without hesitation, right? We certainly are. So with that... you know damn well what time it is.
LET'S CELEBRATE. GO IOWA AWESOME.
