IOWA HAWKEYES MOVING UP IN AP AND AMWAY COACHES POLLS

Fish don't fry in the kitchen. Beans don't burn on the grill. Took a whole lotta tryin', just to get up that hill.

THEY'RE NOT THE REAL POLL. The College Football Playoff Committee will again release the second poll of the season Tuesday evening. Here is the Amway Coaches Poll and a link to the newly released AP Poll.

AP Coaches
Clemson (31) Ohio State (34)
Ohio St (26) Clemson (21)
Alabama (2) Baylor (5)
Baylor (2) Alabama (3)
Oklahoma St Oklahoma St
Notre Dame Notre Dame
Stanford Stanford
Iowa Iowa
LSU LSU
Utah Florida
Florida Oklahoma
Oklahoma TCU
TCU Utah
Michigan St Michigan State
Michigan Michigan
Houston Houston
North Carolina North Carolina
UCLA Florida State
Florida St UCLA
Miss St Miss State
Temple Temple
Navy Wisconsin
Wisconsin Navy
Northwestern Northwestern
Memphis Memphis

IOWA IS STILL BEHIND STANFORD. Here's where the committee got their first release right as Iowa is ahead of Stanford at #9. The Committee also had Northwestern #19 in their initial poll and the Cats should move up with losses to SEC teams in front of them. The Cats could climb as high at #16 in the poll that really matters. Also, Wisconsin was left out of the first release and should enter this week in the late 20s. Northwestern and Wisconsin still play this month but both, baring a loss (Wisconsin has NW and Minnesota, jNW has Purdue, Wisconsin and Illinois) they both could end the season in the Top 25 and quality road wins for our Iowa Hawkeyes.

That's six Big Ten teams in the CFP Top 25 (we assume) and three from each division. The West currently has the advantage in cross-over meetings 6-5 with three more meetings on the horizon. A split looks likely. Iowa hosts Minnesota this Saturday night in Kinnick Stadium. Minnesota is not ranked nor should they be anytime soon. #FreeFloyd
