HAWKS IN THE NFL: THE NFL SEASON KICKS OFF TONIGHT

The final cuts have been made. Let's see who is still on an NFL roster.

THE NFL SEASON BEGINS TONIGHT. Former Hawkeyes Bryan Bulaga, Mike Daniels and Micah Hyde will get the season starter with the Green Bay Packers. After the final NFL cuts, there's 23 former Hawks getting started with their respective pro teams this weekend.

THE FINAL CUTS WERE MADE OVER THE WEEKEND. If you watch Hard Knocks on HBO, you saw Pat Angerer receive the news from the Atlanta Falcons. Some other Hawks that became free agents are:

  • Julian Vandervelde
  • Ricky Stanzi
  • Brett Van Sloten
  • Adam Gettis
  • Marvin McNutt
  • Tanner Miller
  • Casey Kreiter
  • Conor Bofelli

SOME WERE CUT BUT MADE IT TO THE PRACTICE SQUAD. Linebacker A.J. Edds was cut by the Jets but resigned a day later. The Vikings cut Allen Reisner and the New England Patriots picked him up. The Patriots also put James Morris on injured reserve.
