IT'S HERE. It's the last week of predictions and guesses at how the season goes. By this time next week, we'll have a real idea of what to expect going forward. Let's finish the off-season strong with a glance at a few more final predictions.
WILL THE HAWKS BE BOWL BOUND? The BTN's Tom Dienhart picks Iowa to win the Big Ten West so, of course he has Iowa in a bowl game. Dienhart has Sparty over Iowa in the Big Ten title game.
SCOTT DOCHTERMAN NAILED IOWA AT 8-5 LAST YEAR. This season, he predicts Iowa will go 11-1 and lose to Michigan in the Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis. I'll take that. Also, on ESPN, Kirk Herbstreit also had Iowa and losing the Championship game on Saturday's first Gameday of the season. Herbstreit picks MSU over Iowa for the Big Ten title.
LOT'S OF LOVE IN THOSE PREDICTIONS. What if....? It's still time to dream. Perhaps, dream about playoffs.
A COUPLE OF HAWKS EARNED SCHOLARSHIPS. Last Friday, Iowa released their game notes and two-deeps for Northern Iowa. Two red-shirt freshmen walk-ons were in there. They're no longer walk-ons as Bo Bower and Boone Meyers received scholarships over the weekend.
Great day for the Hawkeye LBs...Bo Bower earned a scholarship! #hardworkpaysoff #Hawkeyes

Happy to announce that Fran McCaffery has put 3-year walk-on @KDenning13 on scholarship for his senior season. #Hawkeyes

OTHER BASKETBALL NEWS. A former Hawkeye great needs our thoughts and prayers. Roy Marble Sr. had a biopsy last week in Iowa City on three tumors. He's still awaiting the results, let's hope for the best.
IT'S SLIME TIME IN POLAND. Melsahn (Basabe) is heading to Poland to pursue a professional basketball career.
Appears @Iowabasketball Melsahn Basame has signed to play professional in Poland, via @slimethatsit feed.
