IT'S NOT PLAGIARISM IF YOU LINK TO IT: HOORAY! AMERICA!

Before you celebrate America's birthday by binge drinking your weekend away, I have news for you.

David Purdy

NEWS. We have some. First of all, incoming freshman running back Markel Smith will not be a Hawkeye this Fall. He didn't qualify academically at Iowa and will spend a year at prep school at Milford Academy. Another former Hawkeye took this route once, Shonn Greene. Another running back prospect, Rodney Coe, too took a similar route but never made it back to Iowa. Let's hope Smith's journey is more Greene than Coe.

AARON WHITE IS REALLY GETTING THE CHANCE TO WORK ON HIS SKILLS. The Hawkeye Basketball senior-to-be will head to another Summer camp.

DARIUS STOKES HAS FOUND A LANDING SPOT.

GAME TIME LEAGUE. More like Score Time League. Melissa Dixon goes HAM. She hit on 13 of 24 three point shots to score a whopping 63 points.

THE HAWKEYE IS STRONG HERE.

SO, IOWA DIDN'T CATCH A RECRUIT. Yesterday, top rated recruits Justin Hilliard and Jashon Cornell decided they'd play football at Ohio State. Iowa was a finalist for both recruits but it wasn't meant to be. Hilliard's brother will now be an enemy, if they ever shall meet on the field. C.J., incoming Hawk, wants his brother to pave his own path.

AND FINALLY, BECAUSE WE GOT DAMN LOVE AMERICA AND GOT DAMN LOVE HER BIRTHDAY.
