IT'S NOT PLAGIARISM IF YOU LINK TO IT: ATHLON PREDICTIONS AND PHIL STEELE ALL-BIG TEN TEAMS

It's that time of year for preseason stuff.

ATHLON PROJECTS IOWA AT 9-3. The Hawks are predicted to finish second in the Big Ten West behind Wisconsin.

Just behind Wisconsin in the West Division is Iowa and Nebraska. There's not much separating the Hawkeyes and Cornhuskers for the No. 2 spot. Iowa has a favorable schedule and will have a chance to win the division with Nebraska and Wisconsin both visiting Iowa City in late November.

PHIL STEELE'S MAGAZINE IS ALSO ABOUT TO HIT NEWSSTANDS. He's released parts of his predictions daily on his 1990's styled blog. Yesterday he released his all-Big Ten teams. Brandon Scherff gets a 1st team nod along with Kevonte Martin-Manley at punt return. Jordan Walsh and Carl Davis get 2nd team mentions. Austin Blythe, John Lowdermilk, Mark Weisman and Louis Trinca-Pasat were named to the 3rd and 4th teams.

IOWA ANNOUNCES THE 2014 HALL OF FAME CLASS. From football, member of the 2002 Iowa Football team and Lou Groza Award winner Nate Kaeding will enter the Hall. Also selected: Don Hatch, Jon Reimer, Bruce Kinseth, Jeanne Kruckeberg and coach Jerry Hassard.

IOWA ATHLETICS BE MAKIN THAT PAPERUSA Today released the revenues and expenses for athletic departments for 2013. Iowa ranks #11 overall and #4 in the Big Ten in revenue. Wisconsin is #2, Michigan #4 and Ohio State #5. Iowa's revenue is up a tad over $9,000,000 over 2012.

BUT IOWA'S COACH IS OVERPAID? That's certainly one narrative that repeats about this time every year. Math and stuff.

HOOPS.

LADIES HOOPS HIT THE LINKS.

THE LADIES KNOW THEIR OPPONENT IN NEXT SEASON'S ACC/BIG TEN CHALLENGE. It's Louisville again. The same Louisville that knocked Iowa from this past NCAA Tournament. It will be a big early season match-up for an Iowa team that will likely be ranked in the high teens.
