OK, now it's time for the fun to really start. No more staying alive with draws or even losses if you get the correct other results... it's time for the knockout rounds, which means you win and advance or you lose and go home. Extra time and penalty kicks are now in play for games that are deadlocked after 90 minutes. Bring. It. On.
Up first is a pair of games pitting four of the five surviving South American teams against one another. The intensity level of these games is going to be just a bit high, I'd wager... the stadiums are going to be packed full of fans for each team and there's no shortage of history (or animosity) between most of these teams. This should be a lot of fun.
TODAY'S GAMES:
Brazil v. Chile (11 AM CT, ABC and WatchABC, Ian Darke and Steve McManaman)
Colombia v. Uruguay (3 PM CT, ABC and WatchABC, Jon Champion and Stewart Robson)
The usual rules apply.
