IT'S NOT PLAGIARISM IF YOU LINK TO IT: JAMES MORRIS RELEASED BY THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

James Morris fails his physical and is cut by the Pats.

Matthew Holst

JAMES MORRIS SIGNED WITH THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS FOLLOWING THE NFL DRAFT. He was released this week after failing a physical. Morris made $20,000 for four days of work. Conor Boffeli was also released by the Vikings this week. Former Hawks A.J. Edds and Markus Zusevics signed with the Jets following minicamp.

THE NBA LOTTERY SET THE DRAFT ORDER. Roy Devyn Marble will not be a top 13 pick but his name is mentioned in several mock drafts. DraftExpress has Marble as the 51st pick going to the Dallas Mavericks. Matt Moore, of CBS Sports, has Marble as the last pick of the first round to the San Antonio Spurs.

ESPN RELEASED A 2014 NCAA FOOTBALL POWER INDEX. It looks to be similar to Foobtall Outsiders' F/+ rankings. Iowa falls in at #37 on the first published index. About where FO had Iowa in their initial S&P rankings.

EVEN THE NFL PEOPLE MAKE COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS. Of course, for that traffic right? At NFL.com, A couple of analysts pick Iowa to win the Big Ten West. They also pick an offensive MVP, defensive MVP and talk a lot about Brandon Scherff.

IT'S WATCH LIST SEASON. Congrats to Iowa's Austin Blythe for being named to the Rimington Award watch list.

BLYTHE IS VERY GOOD BUT IS HE IOWA'S MOST INDISPENSABLE PLAYER? ESPN's Big Ten blog lists Brandon Scherff as Iowa's most important offensive player. That's a duh. On defense, Brian Bennett says Desmond King is most important. King is very good and very important but you could make an argument for either of Iowa's DTs. There's depth along the DLine though.

HOOPS RECRUITING.

IOWA BASEBALL GETS ANOTHER SHOT TODAY.
