WE HAVE SOME LEFTOVER NEWS FROM THE SPRING GAME. ESPN's Big Ten blog has a recap. Hawkeye Sports has photos and there's also a podcast breaking down the game from Marc Morehouse and Scott Dochterman.
WITH THE SPRING SESSION OVER, KIRK FERENTZ IS MAKING THE ROUNDS. Ferentz was on On Iowa Live Monday evening. In the half hour video he talked spring football and took questions from the audience. He also spoke with the BTN crew on BTN Live. He then stopped in Des Moines for a Character Counts event before heading over to the Polk County I-Club meeting.
@HawkeyeFootball Coach Ferentz "best part of coaches is working with great student-athletes." #hawksontheroad

IOWA FOOTBALL COACHES HAVE ALSO HIT THE ROAD RECRUITING. They are handing out new scholarship offers.

AND SPEAKING OF FOOTBALL RECRUITING. Iowa's spending more and so is the everyone else in the Big Ten. The big T.V. money from the Big Ten Network is going into facilities and also allowing Big Ten teams to expand budgets. Iowa increased the recruiting budget from $307,226 in 2011 to $477,445 last year.
IOWA CAN PITCH A FUTURE IN THE NFL TO RECRUITS. Since 2009, Iowa and Ohio State are tied with the most NFL Draft picks. Since 2010, Iowa has had the most NFL Draft picks including three first round selections. The NFL Draft starts a week from today. While no Hawkeyes are projected to hear their name in the first round, two to five Hawkeyes could get drafted over the weekend.
IOWA HOOPS ADDS A WALK-ON. Nicholas Baer, Iowa all-state basketball player from Bettendorf will join the Iowa program next season. He averaged 15.3 points per game last year. He's a 6'7" forward that can hopefully replace Darius Stokes as the bench leader.
IOWA BASKETBALL COACHES ARE ALSO OUT RECRUITING. They are also handing out new offers.
2016 big man Tyler Cook has picked up an offer from #Iowa, he tells me.
