FRAN MCCAFFERY TALKS ABOUT IOWA'S WIN AT PENN STATE. (Source)
LET'S GET RECAP-Y. Last week it was senior Devyn Marble that carried this team on his back in a win against Michigan. Against Penn State, it was another senior, Melsahn Basabe. Melsizzle was a force in the paint and hit for 16 points and 8 rebounds. It was a tough, physical contest and toughness in the paint was just what Iowa needed to win. That, and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch. Up next for the Hawks is another road trip. Super Tuesday with Dickie V Dan Dakich in Bloomington against the Hoosiers.
THIS WAS A BIG WIN. Let's not forget who our enemies are?

THE HAWKS AREN'T HEALTHY. No major injuries but...
Clemmons rolled an ankle Jok bruised a knee. Neither expected to keep them out a long time. This is why you like a deep team.

HEY HEY, LOOK WHO'S ONLY 1.5 GAMES OUT OF FIRST! The Hawks caught a big break this weekend with both Michigan and Michigan State losing games. They both face each other next Sunday. We need Sparty to win it since Iowa still has a date with Michigan State in East Lansing. The Hawks have Wisconsin right on their tails but can eliminate the Badgers this upcoming weekend.
