The Battle for the Big Ten West.

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

The battle for the Land-Grant Trophy is resumed after going on hiatus for a few years and there's the latest iteration of that classic #B1G rivalry known as Rutgers-Maryland, but the main event in this swath of games is obvious: Minnesota vs Wisconsin: winner takes the Big Ten West crown and a spot in next Saturday's championship game in Indianapolis.  This was already a big game, between the wonderful rivalry trophy (Paul Bunyan's Axe!), the regional pride, the bragging rights, and the history of this series; adding the Big Ten West crown on top of all that just ups the ante.

Outside of B1G country, the highlights are probably seeing whether or not Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Florida can upset a trio of College Football Playoff hopefuls (Mississippi State, Baylor, and Florida State, respectively), while keeping an eye on Notre Dame-USC, a game loaded with schadenfreude potential.
