Hawks In The NFL: Allen Reisner Scores A Touchdown For the Jaguars

That and other former Hawkeye NFL news.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

ALLEN REISNER PLAYED 56 SNAPS AGAINST THE NEW YORK JETS. That was the most on the Jacksonville Jaguar team. He was targeted four times and had two receptions for 17 yards including a five-yard touchdown.

MICAH HYDE IS PLAYING WELL, LIKE REALLY WELL. Hyde was all over the field for the Green Bay Packers when they took on the St. Louis Rams. Hyde led the team with five tackles and added a sack. He also returned one punt for 12 yards.

TOM BRADY RETURNED FROM A SLIGHT INJURY. And Adrian Clayborn is off the hook. Clayborn shoved a blocker into Brady during a scrimmage last week and the superstar quarterback suffered a knee bruise. The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers met in preseason and Brady started. Clayborn is still recovering from a groin injury and recorded no stats. Jeff Tarpinian did record four tackles for the Pats.

MARVIN MCNUTT'S PLAYING TIME HAS BEEN REDUCED. He started the first preseason game for the Miami Dolphins but their top two WRs Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline did not play. McNutt caught one pass against the Houston Texans for seven yards. Keenan Davis had zero receptions. Davis had a TD in the Dolphins' first preseason game. He, like McNutt is getting less time on the field. Both former Hawkeyes are battling to survive the upcoming player cuts.

FORMER HAWKEYE/AIRBHG VICTIM JEWELL HAMPTON GETS THE BULK OF THE CARRIES. Hampton signed with San Francisco last season but suffered an injury in the preseason. He's healthy and getting a good look from the 49er coaching staff. Hampton rushed 19 times Friday night against the Kansas City Chiefs but for only 33 yards. Ricky Stanzi did not play for the Chiefs and the writing is on the wall for America's quarterback.
