WITH FOOTBALL RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. Many are making their predictions for the upcoming season. Basketball is still a few months away but it's not too early for predictions for that season too. Jon Rothstein, of CBS Sports, has Iowa #4 in his Big Ten Power Poll. He also has the Hawks in his early Top 25 at #22.
FOOTBALL, ON THE OTHER HAND. CBS had their college football analysts predict the order of finish for each conference. The eight panelists predict Iowa will finish fifth or sixth in the Big Ten Legends Division. Actually, only three of the eight didn't have Iowa last, behind Minnesota.
DON'T MAKE PLANS FOR A SUNNY DESTINATION IN DECEMBER OR JANUARY EITHER. Athlon Sports released their bowl predictions for 2013. Iowa doesn't make the cut. Minnesota is in. They have the Gophers facing Northern Illinois is the Little Caesars Bowl. We might as well cancel the season now.
JAKE RUDOCK IS GETTING SOME TIME AT A QB CAMP IN BEFORE PRACTICE STARTS NEXT WEEK. His camp instructor had some glowing things to say via his Twitter account:
Looking forward to getting back to work w/ Iowa #Hawkeyes QB Jake Rudock the next 3 days before camp kicks off. Fine tune & mental approach

Any question on #Iowa QB Jake Rudock's arm strength you can put that to rest. He can hold court any day of the week. Proved it today

HAWKEYE BASEBALL ADDS AN ASSISTANT. Scott Brickman will be Iowa's pitching coach next season. He comes to Iowa from Division II Belmont Abbey University. He's worked previously with Hawkeye coach Heller at Northern Iowa.
