LADIES FIRST. Lisa Bluder's team just didn't have enough fire power to take down #1 seed Notre Dame last evening. It was an up and down year for the Hawkeyes that saw some early season success and a Top 25 ranking. There was a mid season slump and three losses to pesky Nebraska too. Notre Dame ended Iowa's season 74-57 last night in the second round of the Women's NCAA Tournament. Lisa Bluder and Jamie Printy shared a final moment following the game.
FRAN MCCAFFERY'S TEAM HOPES TO KEEP THEIR SEASON GOING. Iowa heads to Virginia to take on the Cavaliers tonight at 6:00 PM CDT. Virginia has a 19-game home court winning streak heading into tonight's game. The Maryland Terrapins knocked off Alabama last night to earn a berth to the NIT Final Four. The winner of tonight's match-up will take on Maryland April 2nd.
KEN POMEROY IS STOKED FOR TONIGHT'S GAME.
Iowa-Virginia has to be one of the best NIT quarterfinals in decades.

Pomeroy's rankings list Iowa at #23 and Virginia at #25. You could make the argument that these teams should be playing this game in New York but Iowa's #3 seed in the NIT is water under the bridge.
IOWA FOOTBALL HELD THEIR PRO DAY. And there's not a lot of numbers coming out of Fort Kinnick. Why Iowa feels the need to shield their Pro Day from the public is a head scratcher. But, luckily, you can't silence everyone. There are a couple of tweets:
At Iowa, QB James Vandenberg completed 51-of-52 passes.

Congratulations to @keenan_davis6 4 destroying his pro day yesterday. A WR any1 will love. 6'3 218, 4.48 40, 38 in vert. Caught everything!

SO, WHO'S READY FOR SOME SPRANG FOOTBAWL? I can feel your excitement! Head coach Kirk Ferentz will kick things off today with a press conference and there might even be a two-deep. Tom Fornelli is talking Hawkeye Football at CBSSports.com and well, Iowa has some things to fix. Marc Morehouse has a couple more editions of his Spring Four Downs series. The two latest installments are about the wide receivers and tight ends. It's Spring and Spring means hope or springs eternal or something.
