NOW THAT BAMA ROLLED, THE ODDS FOR NEXT SEASON'S BCS CHAMPION ARE OUT. If you're crazy enough to believe Iowa can win a BCS National Championship in 2013 you could win some serious cash. That's because Iowa is listed as with a 200/1 shot of winning at Bovada.

IF YOU BET THAT MONEY. You're betting on the Big Ten's 11th best team, according to the ESPN Big Ten blog. Iowa finished the season #11 in their Power Poll and will begin next season where they finished this year.

FOOTBALL COACHING CHANGES. Erik Campbell is out and D.J. Hernandez is in (as a grad assistant). Campbell recently interviewed for a gig at Missouri. So, who coaches wide receivers? A name to watch is Bobby Kennedy, per the coaching search ticker. Kennedy is a former wide receiver coach at Colorado, not rehired after last season. He also spent several years coaching at Texas with Greg Davis.

IOWA FOOTBALL MAY BE DOWN IN THE WIN COLUMN BUT UP IN MAKING THAT MONEY. Iowa football is worth $384.4 million dollars according to the Wall Street Journal. That is good enough for 11th best in the nation. Texas sits atop the list just ahead of Michigan, the top Big Ten team.

HONORS FOR AUSTIN BLYTHE. Iowa's red-shirt freshman offensive lineman earned a place on the Football Writers Association of America freshman All-America team. Blythe is one of four Big Ten frosh to make the team.

THREE HAWKEYES WILL PLAY IN THE UPCOMING EAST-WEST SHRINE BOWL. Keenan Davis, James Ferentz and Micah Hyde will head to Florida to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl on January 19th. Greg Castillo, Matt Tobin and James Vandenberg will also play on the 19th in the Raycom College Football All-Star Classic. Keenan is a surprise in the Shrine. The latter game is new to me.

FRAN MCCAFFERY'S TEAM WILL BE BACK THURSDAY TRYING TO GET BIG TEN WIN #1. Here is the starting five and the game notes for Iowa's contest with Michigan State. There are still about 3,500 tickets for sale and the University would love for you to wear white if you plan to attend.
