Iowa used a torrid shooting display (49.1% FG) and some extremely clutch free throw shooting down the stretch (15/15) to end Virginia's 19-game home winning streak and book a trip to next week's NIT semifinals. Roy Devyn Marble was again the star of the show, going for 24 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Adam Woodbury gave Iowa some much-needed inside scoring (10 points on 5/7 shooting) and Zach McCabe added 10 points off the bench to continue his strong NIT efforts.
We'll have much more about this game later, but for now: WOOOOOOOO. If you're in the NIT, you might as well try to win it, right? With the win tonight, Iowa will make their first-ever trip to the NIT semifinals. They'll play Maryland in Madison Square Garden next Tuesday at 8:30pm CT. GO IOWA AWESOME.
