BRIAN FERENTZ HINTED IT MAY HAPPEN. Still, Kirk Ferentz has yet to create a Twitter account. There are several coaches, including Brian, that use the social media tool. The Twitter ban for players is intact. Several recruits said goodbye this Summer as they started their Hawkeye careers. KF loves his iPad and maybe it's only a matter of time before he downloads Tweetdeck.

CBSSPORTS BREAKS DOWN IOWA'S BEST 2013 NFL DRAFT PROSPECTS. If you recall, we did this here in May. CBS declares Micah Hyde as Iowa's best NFL prospect. Keenan Davis is next. James Ferentz, James Vandenberg and C.J. Fiedorowicz round out the list.

IS CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY ONE OF THE BEST 10 LINEBACKERS IN THE BIG TEN? Brian Bennett, of ESPN.com, continues to rank Big Ten position players and today it's linebackers. James Morris makes his Top 10 at #7. Absent from the list, Christian Kirksey. There's a lot of good players on the list. It will be interesting to revisit this at the end of the season.

WELP, HE'S ON THE DEPTH CHART SO IT MUST ME TRUE. Randy Peterson asks if Brad Rogers is Iowa's new starting tailback. Rogers is also listed as the #1 fullback. He's listed at running back by default. Backups there are true freshmen that are participating in their first practice today.

FRAN MCCAFFERY HAS BEEN BUSY OFFERING BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIPS. This past week, Fran has offered Illinois forward Michael Finke. He's a 6'9" class of 2014 prospect. Iowa offered Austin Price, a 6'3" 2013 point guard prospect from Detroit. And finally, Iowa offered JaQuan Lyle, a class of 2014 shooting guard from Indiana.
