Iowa Men's Basketball Head Coach Fran McCaffery Comments on Contract Extension (via hawkeyesportstv)
AS ROSSWB POSTED YESTERDAY, FRAN MCCAFFERY INKED A NEW SEVEN YEAR CONTRACT. The new seven year deal is good through June of 2019. McCaffery spoke with the media following Barta's announced new deal. Here's some of what McCaffery had to say:
"I am very excited to sign this contract. We have made tremendous progress in all phases of the program in two seasons. I appreciate the support and confidence expressed by President Sally Mason and Gary Barta in signing this contract.
"We are committed to continued improvement. We have made progress during both the regular season and in postseason play with our participation in the 2012 NIT. Our players know they have the complete support of the University, and we look forward to the upcoming seasons."

AND BTW, IOWA MEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS WENT ON SALE. There's 19 home games next year. That's $320 per seat if you're not faculty. Some of the opponents in those 19 games is still to be determined.

IOWA FOOTBALL THE 7TH BEST JOB IN THE BIG TEN. According to the ESPN Big Ten blog. Iowa falls just behind Michigan State and ahead of Illinois. Ohio State and Michigan are the conference's top two to probably no surprise.
THE BIG TEN BOWL SCHEDULE IS OUT. There are five games scheduled for January 1st (Rose, Outback, Capital One, Gator and Ticket City). The Little Caesar's, Meineke and Iowa Bowl are all scheduled the week between Christmas and New Year's.
IOWA RELEASES ITS 2012-2013 WRESTLING SCHEDULE. Gone is the UNI dual and Midlands tournament. Added is a trip to Madison Square Garden in New York City. Here is the complete schedule on Hawkeye Sports.
