HAWKEYE MEN AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TIP-OFF TONIGHT. The ladies take the floor at 5:30 (CST). Lisa Bluder says Jamie Printy will play but her minutes will be limited and she will not be in the starting lineup. Printy is nursing back to health a bad hamstring. The men will start at 8:00 pm (CST) and the game can be viewed online (only) at Hawkeye Sports or at BTN.com.
IOWA LOOKS TO REPLACE MATT GATENS' SCORING. Roy Dev Marble may be that guy. Over the summer there were rumblings about Roy Dev taking his game to the NBA. To do that he's going to have to bring his game to the next level.
BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS, WE HAVE MORE PREDICTIONS. Scott Dochterman, of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, has his preview and predictions on the eve of hoops mania. Doc puts Iowa sixth in the Big Ten and has them in the NCAA tournament winning games.
FOOTBALL. The Hawkeyes welcome back Mike Ferroni Saturday as the team's honorary captain. Ferroni played offensive line at Iowa from 1989-92.
HAWKEYE FOOTBALLERS ARE EARNING HONORS FOR THEIR WORK IN THE CLASSROOM. James Vandenberg, James Morris and Steve Bigach earned a spot on the Capital One Academic All-district team. James Morris holds the highest GPA of the three with a 3.80. He's a poly sci major.
HOW BOUT SOME PREDICTIONS? Once again, Marc Morehouse has his advantage break down and score prediction. He takes Iowa 28, Purdue 27. ESPN Big Ten bloggers Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett are also both taking the Hawkeyes. Both Big Ten Network writers take the Hawkeyes too. Finally, even CBS Sports blogger Dave Carey is taking Iowa. Wow, Purdue must really suck.
NEED TICKETS TO THE GAME? Still plenty of tickets available starting as low as $50.

WRESTLE-OFF NUMBER ONE IS IN THE BOOKS. Pat Rhoads defeated Jake Kadel at 149 pounds, 15-6. Next up for Rhoads is Mike Kelly. A full slate of matches begin today at 4:30 pm (CST) in the Dan Gable Wrestling Complex.
