Here's today's schedule. 6:30 A.M. (ESPN): Honduras vs. Chile, in Group H. There's a certain cruelty to making the Western-most countries do battle this early, but so be it. Honduras can wreak havoc with at least a tie here, but they have little business doing so. The key here is star Suazo's injury: Honduras is missing key forward David Suazo, and Chile gets their striker Humberto Suazo back today.
9 A.M. (ESPN): Spain vs. Switzerland, Group H. So help me god, don't let this be yet another draw. The Cup desperately needs Spain to inject life into the proceedings, and Switzerland's just the kind of defensively conservative side to make this a 0-0 or 1-1 affair. No. Please.
1:30 P.M. (ESPN): South Africa and Uruguay in Group A action. Both teams tied in their first game in group play, so if anyone takes home a W, they are in dominant group position going forward. And if they tie, they're at the mercy of their final game of group play. South Africa's is France; Uruguay's is Mexico. South Africa probably needs a win here to keep their miracle hopes alive.
Anyhoo, usual rules of game threads apply: no porn, no discussion of piracy; if you can't watch the game on TV, there are legal online streams at ESPN3.com. Beyond that, the topic is verboten.
