There's not much more we can say about this sad ordeal that hasn't already been said, but it's worth noting that a jury has just found Mark Becker guilty of first-degree murder.
Sentencing has been set for April 14, but there isn't a great deal of merit in waiting; Becker obviously faces life without parole. He's not going to "fry"; there's no capital punishment in Iowa.
Anyway, at the very least, we can be relieved that there's some measure of closure in this tragedy. We wish both the Thomas and Becker families the best as they try to put the pieces back together, and out of respect for both families we're turning comments off on this post.
