Anthony Tucker Suspended

God damn it.

Iowa leading scorer Anthony Tucker has been suspended "indefinitely" for violating a team rule, basketball coach Todd Lickliter said today.

Tucker, a freshman, leads the Hawkeyes in scoring with an average of 13.1 points.

"I found out about it this morning," Lickliter said before practice today. "I found out about it early this morning – from Anthony."

Police reports by the Iowa City and University of Iowa police departments did not include anything today pertaining to Tucker.

Lickliter has been a strict disciplinarian since taking over last season; need I remind you of the gauntlet Dan Bohall had to run to get back on the floor after having the temerity to be drunk in a dorm bathroom?  While there is apparently no underlying criminal charge (thank God), an indefinite suspension could keep Tucker out for a month or more.  With UNI, Iowa State, and Drake on tap in the next two weeks and only four games remaining before conference play begins, it's not the time to be losing your leading scorer.
