#1 in the polls, and in my pants
The paradigm has shifted. That's what I've learned. You can no longer judge teams based on conference affiliation or the name on their jersey. The only way to judge these teams is to watch them, week to week, and decide who looks better. I know, it's a novel approach! Based on that, South Florida is #1. It's not because their schedule has been tougher (it has, by the way). It's not because their uniforms are cooler (they are, by the way). It's because I've seen them play, week after week, and they're a better team than Ohio State.
Admittedly, I do hate Jim Tressel, perhaps more than any other coach in college sports. But this isn't personal, if it was, I'd track him down and batter his smug face with a six pack of Pepsi in a pillow case. Or I'd cancel his Momma's TV Guide subscription. But that's hate and this is business.
Doing this poll is not easy, and as always, I'm open to your suggestions. Just know that being #1 is no longer an entitlement, it's a reward for what you do on the field. Tell me what you think.
I'm ready for you, Buckeye fan.
