The club acquired left-handed pitcher Joe Williams today from the Independent League. Right-handed reliever Marco Gonzalez will go to the disabled list with tightness in his throwing elbow. Gonzalez hasn't pitched for Springfield since coming from Triple-A Memphis.
Joe Williams is famous for being Dr. Marshall's main mouthpiece and pitcher in camp. Getting signed to a professional contract is a big step forward for him, and I look forward to seeing him pitch on MiLB.tv.
