Our InsideNU Q&A series continues with Northwestern graduate and ESPN sports business reporter Darren Rovell. Rovell worked at ESPN from 2000 to 2006 and then at CNBC until this summer. He started...

by Kevin Trahan (@k_trahan) There wasn't much going on in the Northwestern sports world yesterday, but there was plenty going on in college football and the Big Ten. InsideNU has you covered from...

How often is Darren Rovell tweeting about Johnny Manziel and Texas A&M?

John Cena's Fruity Pebbles cereal promotion likely ends any talk of his turning heel before WrestleMania

Now that we know John Cena will be on the front of three million boxes of Fruity Pebbles cereal -- which will be sold for the next three months -- we can now likely close the book on any talk of...

MLB Attendance Holding Up In Tough Economy

From Darren Rovell of CNBC: "Last week, when the Associated Press wrote that Major League Baseball's average attendance for the first two weeks was off 6.9 percent from last year, many news outlets just reported the number. Well, I just did the math and it's not even half as bad. While the focus is on the empty seats behind the plate at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field, the truth of the matter is that Major League Baseball is currently on pace to average about a three percent decline in attendance as compared to last year." He backs up his statement with some analysis, and charts of the most up and most down teams. The Rays are up 60% (even with a defending AL title, that's astounding to me), the Marlins are up 56%, and no one else is up even 16%. And the Nationals are off to a bad start, not sure if they're going to outdraw their television audience again this year.

On the DL Podcast with Darren Rovell

The On the DL Podcast, one of the best in the sporting category, had CNBC's sports business reporter Darren Rovell on the program. Though I'm biased to our regular golf biz reporter Jon Show of the Sports Business Journal, host Dan Levy and Darren do hit on golf somewhat. It's a good show in general, but hits some key golf topics this week.
