POLL: What concerns you more about the Iowa football team?

I voted Citizenship, but really, I think the two go hand-in-hand in a lot of ways, and one begets the other.  They both suck, they're both embarassing, and the simple fact that the question even needs to be asked makes me want to cry.  Or sucker-punch someone.  Either way...

With Bucket.  I think if you take care of the citizenship problem, the on field problems will take care of themselves.  What's going on in Iowa City is absolutely ridiculous.  I don't have a sharp enough football mind to solve the on field problems, but I'll sure as shit tell you I can point out what's wrong off the field.  Recruit the kids you want, but make it clear that if their name ends up on a police blotter, for whatever reason, they're off the team.  If they hesitate, you don't want that kid on your team.

Whether one leads to another is a question I'll leave to far smarter people than I, but like the last two said, they're both involved.  Would the team be better without those losses?  Unquestionably.  Would there be a lower attrition (and/or stupidity) rate if the team were better?  I would hope so.  
In either case, these are broad stroke issues that have to be addressed.  I don't think they can be solved in a year (or 1 offseason), but they need to be acknowleged and worked on.

I voted that the "Citizenship" concerns me more only because we haven't seen problems like this in the past.  We've been through bad on-field seasons before but the trouble-making has not been an issue since I've been an Iowa fan.  And I think the behavioral question more closely relates to my true concerns with the program.  I believe the true problem lies in the recruits that Iowa is getting.  The players are good, too good.  They've been drinking their own Kool-aid for so long that they don't feel like they have to work for playing time or on the field when it comes to Saturdays.  Also, acting like a proper human being off the field was something many of these players could get away with in college, but now in the higher levels of athletics they are not juking the long tackling arm of the law.  At least in the past when they were losing they were doing it while being decent citizens, now they're doing both, which is more troubling than their on-field performance.

It's BS, but we will run a story on that later. What are blogs for if not for that?

You want a blitz-less cover 2 on every defensive play?  KF is your man!

You want assistants who fail miserably in their relatively simple tasks (like teaching 300-lb. linemen to get in the way of people), yet are not only retained, but promoted?  If nepotism is your game, Ferentz is your name!

JHC is right.  It's BS.  But it's just the kind of BS I'm looking for...
