A NEW BEGINNING
We're a bad basketball team - inconsistent offensively, defensively, and we've been positively listless for the past 2 weeks. When coupled with the... "misfortunes" of the football team, on and off the field, we've been through the most trying season of my lifetime as a Hawkeye. One would think all hope is lost - but one would be wrong.
See, Marchifornication is here and all of that is about to change. We still have a chance to get into the NCAA Tournament. I'm not high. I'm serious! The Big Ten Tournament is coming and the conference is just bad enough that we could actually win it. Take a look at the conference and find me an unbeatable team. We beat Michigan State and Ohio State. We had narrow losses to Indiana, Wisconsin, and Purdue (by a total of 10 points combined). Unlikely? Yes. Unpossible? No.
I know things look bad. I probably know this better than most of you because I've watched every game, and discussed them ad nauseum. Admittedly, I've said some things I (probably) shouldn't have recently but I'm a passionate man and things get away from me at times. But that unpleasantness is in the past, man. We're all about moving forward here! We can do this!
Coach Lick's not giving up.
Jake Kelly's not giving up.
I'm not giving up.

Adam Haluska's not giving up!
March has returned, and along with it, hope. So don't you quit on us! Don't you do it. This isn't the end of anything, it's the beginning. Get on board now and we can laugh at the naysayers later. Who's with me?

Why is Johanna Solverson and her 0 good knees
Outscoring the entire men's team on a consistent basis?
I saw the Hawkettes take down what was supposedly a good Lady Badger team today to clinch a league crown, such as it is. (This Bucky team was apparently the source of the Michigan Sheverines hoops coach outburst.) It was the first time I have witnessed an Iowa women's team since a couple years ago in the Five Seasons Center. Why in hell they or I was in CR at the time, who can say. No matter.
What matters is this: They scored over 80 points, and moved the ball well, and shot well -- three things I swear to christ I have not witnessed in a men's game all freaking season long. This includes the obligatory "well, I guess the Big Ten should have some teams in the Top 25, so, Sparty and Bucky, you'll have to do."
Seriously, the Big Ten needs to stop playing basketball. Too bad Lute wouldn't let us put an ice rink in Carver.

I will be yaysayer #1
I believe. Not so much in this particular Iowa team, but just in the hilarious disaster that is the Big Ten right now.

40-37 would be a great football game tho'
It should be enough to take the title.
As long as the big 10 won't get a team past the first round, might as well be Iowa, no? A dream Michigan-Iowa title round for all the marbles, and by "marbles", I mean, "quite possibly, the first ever Big 10 champ/15 seed."
Put me down for Yea.

Michael J. Fox had great moves back then..
(Insert arbitrary Parkinson's joke, then say, "Too soon?)
It's a perfectly cromulent word
It embiggens the linguistic spirit of us all.
Hawkeyes to the Final Four!!!!!!!!
Naysayer McGee
I predict we lose the first game, no matter who we play, by 6.
I predict that since the BTT is in Indy, the fact that we are a bad team, and the fact that Seth should be a male model, there will only be 16 Iowa fans in attendance.
I predict that Iowa will lose to NW tomorrow.
I predict I will beat up 3 NW students afterwards.
