All Your Base are Belong to Bob Sanders

Hey, remember last week when we celebrated Bob Sanders' new contract? Well, he's back in the news, this time for being named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Bob joins elite company; only Ed Reed ('02), Kenny Easley ('84), and Dick Anderson ('73) have previously won the award as safeties. Further, of those eligible, nearly half are in the Hall of Fame, and several more (Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, and Brian Urlacher, for starters) are absolute mortal locks for the Hall. It's, of course, a wee bit early for Bob to buy a ticket to Canton, but it's one hell of a start.
We eagerly anticipate Bob's celebration of pounding a case of Powerthirst and bench-pressing a tour bus full of polar bears. Keep the preposterone flowing, little big man.

Oh how I wish it wasn't too late for me to be a Colts fan. I have nothing, NOTHING [cue Whitney Houston] now but watching former Hawkeyes find success on other teams besides the Vikings.

And Adrian Peterson
(I know he never played for Iowa, but I like to daydream)

Right
What's better...an midlevel LB on a team that destroyed its own playoff chances or the Defensive Player of the Year of the reigning Super Bowl champs?
True, AD gets me moist, but my point was the Hawkeyes suck, the Vikings suck, the Twins are losing Santana and ended the season below .500 for the first time in years, and the Mets don't deserve my adoration any longer after their performance in September.
2007 was a rough year.

Awesome
It is about time the Hitman gets some pub for turning around the Colts Defense. He led them to the Super Bowl last season. I am still waiting for Steiny's recognition. His Pro Bowl snub was total BS and no All Pro love either.
Steinbach signs big contract with crappy Browns and leaves Bengals. The Browns offense catches fire and the Bengals' offense implodes. There is more to it than just him but his outstanding play was a major contributor to everything.
I could go on forever.
