After a brief hiatus, POLL WATCH returns! Did you miss us? Probably not. Anyway, on with the show...

|4||Michigan St. Spartans||15-1||1,442|
|5||Wichita St. Shockers||17-0||1,300|

Iowa moves up from 20th to 14th in the new AP poll, a 6-spot move that ties them with Creighton for the second-biggest jump in that poll this week. (Cincinnati had the biggest jump this week, going from unranked to 18th.) Yes, Iowa remains behind an Ohio State they just beat by 10 on the road, presumably because reasons. Iowa is the second-highest ranked 3-loss team in the poll (behind #13 Kentucky), so yay.
In other news, Duke remains ranked despite suffering their fourth loss of the year and looking kind of pitiful against Clemson, presumably because a poll without Duke included would cause the Matrix to explode.
USA Today Coaches Poll Top 25 -- January 13, 2014
|4||Michigan State (1)||15-1||718|
|11||San Diego State||14-1||481|
Iowa is ranked lower in the Coaches Poll -- 16th -- but they were also starting from a lower spot in the previous poll (23rd). Their 7-spot jump in the rankings was the biggest move upwards for any team in the Coaches Poll this week. They're the third-highest ranked 3-loss team in this poll, behind Kentucky (#12) and Louisville (#14); damned Bluegrass State.
Meanwhile, Iowa's 5th in the new KenPom rankings:
